Day 70

I have known lots of spoiled rich kids, and lots of rich kids who are not spoiled. The difference was evident growing up in affluent Englewood, New Jersey. Later at Pasadena Playhouse, some of my classmates were the children Hollywood makers and breakers. I became friendly with a boy whose dad was a famous producer. He harbored lots of anger and once we rode to Beverly High where he spew venom at his high school. Later, I think he was in one movie, don't know what happened after that.

One of my closest friends early on came from a family that was wealthy and philanthropic. The responses to wealth and privilege are different--as to fame as well..some candles burn brightly as the late Olivia Newton-John, others are quite flashy and obnoxious.. I don't know where I am going with this-but still thinking of Kim Kardashian- remembering her dad on the OJ case- and the families choices with building in your face careers.

Random thoughts. As an aside the late Malcom Forbes and I were in Turkey at the same time on the same route-- I was a member of the poor and curious.. I guess it evens out.. the difference, I was walking with 2 French doctors to Konya and he was traveling with a group of motorcyclists.. we both got to the tomb of Rumi
