Day 42
When I started going to hard core gyms in 1980's women were just beginning to lift. I was intrigued and had a subscription to Muscle and Fitness. The Attic was a small gym, near my house and I immediately made friends with other women and the guys. We lifted weights and jumped rope for aerobics. Eventually we started a Conscious Raising group for Women bodybuilders-as many women at the time did not want to build muscles and were afraid of bulking up. Eventually, that gym closed and I joined several others. Personal trainers were just becoming vogue and I hired competitive body builders including Bev Francis who won many Olympic Gold Medals. I loved every moment of those times. When I relocated to Princeton and later New Hope, PA the quality of training was not as good.. until I met Frank-- who I worked with for 3 years- until I moved to Philadelphia. Having the right Personal Trainer is such a gift. I absolutely credit my current ability to live in a house with many stairs, walk all over a city, and so much more to constantly going to a gym. Peloton, was /is a great choice-very different from in person-times change--memories remain.
