My friend Dr. David Farrar, was the founding director of the Virginia Opera Company. We were friends from Santa Barbara, and for some reason he thought that I could be a makeup artist for an opera. For some reason, I thought that I could be a makeup artist-maybe because-I took one unfinished class at Pasadena Playhouse. I brought along my friend the late Mario Rivoli- who was an artist-not makeup- and Lucia di Lammermoor might never have been the same. Somehow the show went on-that was my final job as makeup artist and almost ruined my friendship with Mario.
